Saudi Arabia's official national encyclopedia records King Abdulaziz's 1929 purchase of four Westland Wapiti II aircraft to support the Hejazi Najdi Air Force, and the Royal Saudi Air Force Museum records the Wapiti as the first warplane purchased and its role protecting camps and transporting mail and medicines. No authoritative withdrawal year was found, so none is invented.
