Israeli sources revealed on the 15th that during a phone call on the 14th between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and U.S. President Trump, Netanyahu clearly stated that Israel does not believe it will be bound by any provisions related to Lebanon in a potential U.S.-Iran agreement. The Israel Defense Forces will not withdraw from Lebanon and will remain in the recently occupied positions to continue countering threats from Hezbollah. The operations will include destroying infrastructure and responding to any attacks against Israel.
Sources indicate that this means the agreement will not constrain Israel's actions in Lebanon, but whether these statements from the Israeli side can withstand the test of reality remains to be seen.
