Recently, a joint air rescue drill for highway accidents was conducted in a certain area of East China. Upon receiving the rescue order, a helicopter from a unit of the Eastern Theater Command Air Force took off immediately, overcoming multiple challenges such as unfamiliar airspace, dense obstacles, and extreme heat. The drill employed a combination of ground rescue and hovering hoist techniques, coordinating efforts from fire services, traffic police, militia, and medical personnel to complete the full process of casualty search and rescue, initial treatment, and air transport. The exercise adhered to the principle of promoting training through drills, focusing on streamlining the military-civilian command chain and refining collaborative response processes. Moving forward, the unit will continue to explore emergency search and rescue models, improve the response, rescue, and evacuation action chain, and strengthen the aerial emergency barrier to protect the safety of the public.
