According to reports from Yemen on October 1, fighting has intensified on multiple fronts in Taiz province in southwestern Yemen, with fierce clashes occurring between government forces and Houthi armed forces in the southern regions of the province. Saudi airstrikes target multiple Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen
On the 1st, Saudi warplanes launched airstrikes on several positions in Taiz province controlled by the Houthi armed forces. The Houthis confirmed in a statement on the 1st that within the past 24 hours, Saudi aircraft had conducted 47 airstrikes and missile attacks on Taiz, Saada, and Al-Jawf provinces in Yemen.
Houthi attacks on Aden and southern Saudi cities
In the early hours of the 2nd, the Houthi armed forces used drones and missiles to attack a military facility of the coalition forces located in Aden, Yemen. A spokesperson for the coalition forces, Maliki, stated on the 2nd that they intercepted a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait. Several hours earlier, the coalition forces reported intercepting four drones belonging to the Houthi armed forces.
Since September, the Houthi armed forces have intensified their offensive against government forces, capturing several strategic locations along the Red Sea coast. Meanwhile, the conflict between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, which supports the Yemeni government forces, continues to escalate.
