On May 5 local time, air raid alarms were sounded in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, accompanied by a series of explosions.
Shortly thereafter, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast were subjected to ballistic missile attacks, and the local air defense system had urgently activated interception operations. Missiles continue to fly towards the urban area of Kyiv.
Klitschko also stated that a non-residential building area in the Obolon district of Kyiv was attacked, and emergency rescue teams have rushed to the scene to carry out response work.
