The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Aviv Kohavi, stated on May 29 that the ground forces of the Israeli military are currently advancing and conducting operations in southern Lebanon.
Kohavi noted, "The offensive by the Israeli military has dealt an unprecedented heavy blow to Hezbollah, inflicting significant casualties on thousands of its members and a large number of mid- to high-ranking commanders." He emphasized that the "frontline defense" established by the Israeli military in the southern security zone does not restrict its operations; as long as a threat is detected, the Israeli military will take action to eliminate it.
At the same time, Kohavi pointed out that the Israeli military is currently maintaining a high level of alert, ready to respond to any developments in the situation.
