According to Iraqi sources, on the evening of March 7 local time, the U.S. Embassy in Iraq was attacked. Iraqi Prime Minister Sudani has since issued a statement calling for security forces to apprehend the perpetrators.
Additionally, explosions and the sounds of air defense systems intercepting incoming aerial targets were reported in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdish Autonomous Region in northern Iraq.
