Recently, a logistics ship squadron of the Southern Theater Command Navy organized various types of vessels, including a hospital ship, transport ships, and supply ships, to conduct specialized maritime search and rescue training in a certain area of the South China Sea, honing the troops' capabilities in maritime frontline search and rescue and medical treatment.
This training focused on the scenario of "a large number of crew members falling overboard and going missing." Upon receiving the search and rescue report, the fleet immediately established a search and rescue command post on the hospital ship, assessed the local sea conditions, determined the search base points and search areas, and issued the search and rescue plan.
Search and rescue forces arrived at the accident sea area, confirmed the location of the overboard personnel, and the rescue vessels immediately deployed life-saving measures. Officers and soldiers equipped with rescue gear and small boats proceeded to carry out the rescue.
The injured were transported to the hospital ship in batches. Medical staff classified the injuries and sent the patients to various departments for treatment, ensuring the stability of the patients' vital signs. The medical center of the hospital ship reported that one patient, due to severe abdominal injuries, required immediate surgical intervention. After finalizing the surgical plan and preoperative preparations, the medical staff overcame the adverse effects of the ship's rocking, and the surgery was successfully completed with close cooperation among the medical personnel.
