Sudan has recently experienced a series of drone attacks in multiple locations, resulting in significant civilian casualties. On the 20th, UN Secretary-General spokesperson Dujarric stated that the United Nations strongly condemns the drone attacks occurring in Sudan and urges all parties involved in the conflict to adhere to international humanitarian law and effectively protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
According to reports from the United Nations, on the 18th, a market in West Kordofan, Sudan, was targeted by a drone attack, leading to the deaths of dozens of civilians. On the same day, a residential area in the Sudanese capital Khartoum was attacked by drones, causing casualties among civilians, including children.
Dujarric noted that the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Sudan has arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, and will co-chair the 6th Sudan Consultative Group meeting with Swiss officials on the 21st, continuing efforts to promote a political resolution to the Sudan conflict.
