查克·霍纳

Chuck Horner was one of the most consequential air commanders of the late twentieth century, overseeing the coalition air campaign in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm at the moment when precision strike, joint command integration, and sustained air supremacy were becoming central to U.S.-led warfighting. His command during Operation Desert Storm helped define how air power would be used to shape the battlefield before and during major ground combat. He integrated allied and American air assets at scale, translated strategic goals into target priorities, and demonstrated that air command could be a decisive organizing function in coalition war. His career shows how modern campaigns are often won partly through the quality of theater-level orchestration rather than only through tactical brilliance in individual engagements.
