卡洛·杰洛索

Carlo Geloso illustrates the often-overlooked administrative and occupation side of Axis military command. An Italian general active in Albania, Greece, and the Balkans, his career explains how Fascist Italy attempted to use military governance, occupation armies, and counterinsurgency repression to sustain influence in southeastern Europe during the Second World War. He commanded forces in the Greco-Italian and Balkan theaters, held a place inside the Italian occupation apparatus, and his career exposes the limits of Italian military power when strategy, logistics, and coalition dependence all worked against it, connecting battlefield weakness, occupation rule, and the politics of Axis imperial management.
