German high-end artillery modernization
PzH 2000 was built as a highly automated German 155 mm artillery system.
The PzH 2000 was developed by German industry to replace older self-propelled artillery with a highly automated, long-range 155 mm system. Its development reflected late Cold War and post-Cold War priorities: rapid fire missions, high ammunition handling efficiency, strong crew protection, and NATO-standard 155 mm compatibility. The system became a benchmark for modern tracked howitzers because it combined heavy firepower with advanced automation.
