Swedish next-generation wheeled artillery
Archer was built around automation, fast displacement, and survivable wheeled artillery operations.
Archer was developed in Sweden to give artillery units a highly automated 155 mm system with fast deployment, short crew exposure, and rapid shoot-and-scoot mobility. It grew from Nordic requirements for survivable artillery able to operate in harsh climates and dispersed firing positions. BAE Systems later marketed the system internationally as demand grew for wheeled artillery with high automation and lower crew burden.
