The Endurance class is a Singaporean landing platform dock and amphibious support ship family built by ST Engineering Marine. It replaced older landing ship tanks with a more capable platform for sealift, disaster relief, training deployments, and regional security missions.
The design carries troops, vehicles, landing craft, and helicopters while retaining naval gun armament and command spaces. Its strength is flexibility: the same hull can move military equipment, evacuate civilians, host medical support, or act as a command ship during multinational exercises.
For Singapore, Endurance-class ships are a practical form of power projection. They extend the navy beyond coastal defense by enabling sustained overseas exercises, humanitarian assistance, and evacuation operations, all of which matter for a trade-dependent island state with global citizens and regional commitments.
