Italian M113-based anti-aircraft gun vehicle
mediumSIDAM 25 was developed to give Italian mechanized units mobile short-range gun air defence.
The SIDAM 25 is an Italian self-propelled anti-aircraft gun developed by OTO Melara using the M113 armored personnel carrier chassis. It was intended to provide the Italian Army with a mobile low-altitude defence system for maneuver units. The system reflects a late Cold War requirement to counter helicopters and low-flying aircraft close to ground formations.
