Indigenous attack submarine
KSS-III is South Korea's modern indigenous diesel-electric submarine programme, also known as the Dosan Ahn Chang-ho class.
KSS-III represents a major step in South Korea's undersea warfare capability. The class is larger and more sophisticated than earlier Korean submarines, with domestic design and construction playing a central role. It is intended for surveillance, sea denial, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and strategic deterrence-related missions.
