Espora (MEKO 140A16)
The Espora-class corvettes are six warships of the Argentine Navy, built from 1985 to 2004 based on the German MEKO 140A16 design, primarily for anti-surface warfare and patrol tasks. Despite financial challenges and operational issues, including delays in repairs and maintenance, these corvettes have been modernized with advanced systems and continue to serve in the 2nd Corvette Division at Puerto Belgrano Naval Base.

Meko 140
The MEKO 140 is a modular maritime vessel designed by Blohm + Voss, allowing for versatile armament and electronics to meet various naval needs. Developed from the João Coutinho-class corvettes, it serves as a flexible frigate/corvette, with variants like the MEKO 140 A16, which are used by the Argentine Navy as part of their High Seas Fleet.
