Twin-engine member of the Huey family
The Bell 212 translated the proven Huey utility concept into a twin-engine civil and military platform.
The Bell 212, also known in military service as the UH-1N Twin Huey, grew from the Bell 204/205 and UH-1 family. Its core change was the move to a twin-engine power package, giving operators better redundancy and payload confidence while preserving the familiar Huey layout. The U.S. Air Force describes the UH-1N as the military version of the Bell 212, which is important because the type sits between commercial utility service and military support roles. It is not a clean-sheet helicopter; it is a practical evolutionary step in one of the most widely used helicopter families.
