A U.S. Officer Dies While Supporting Military Operations Against Iran in Kuwait
Xinhua News Agency, New York, March 7 - The New York City Police Department announced on the 7th that one of its officers died "due to illness" on the 6th while performing a support mission for military operations against Iran in Kuwait.
The New York City Police Department stated that the deceased officer served in the 42nd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army National Guard, holding the rank of Major. He joined the New York City Police Department in 2014.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul issued a statement saying that the officer died on the 6th while carrying out a support mission at the U.S. military's Camp Buehring in Kuwait.
Both statements did not provide further details.
Previously, the U.S. military had stated that as of 4 PM Eastern Time on the 2nd (5 AM Beijing Time on the 3rd), six U.S. soldiers had died in military operations against Iran.
