PLA Daily, Beijing, August 21 - Deng Dongzhi, reporter Li Jianwen reported: In the early hours of the 21st, various types of aircraft and participating personnel from the Chinese Air Force, taking part in the China-Egypt "Civilization Eagle-2026" joint air force training, arrived at a certain base of the Egyptian Air Force across continents.
This is the second time that the air forces of China and Egypt have conducted the "Civilization Eagle" series of joint training. The Chinese Air Force dispatched a systematic array of aircraft including fighter jets, tankers, special mission aircraft, and helicopters for the training.
During this long-range maneuver task, the tanker not only undertook the air refueling mission but also served as an aerial command and coordination hub. In the early stages of the mission, the participating units conducted detailed research and preparation regarding flight route planning, meteorological conditions, and emergency response. In recent years, the Chinese Air Force has executed multiple overseas missions, accumulating experience and honing capabilities, laying a solid foundation for the successful completion of this exercise.
The flight formation overcame challenges such as long flight times and complex weather, covering over 6,000 kilometers, passing through multiple countries across two continents, and flying for nearly 9 hours.
Upon arriving in Egypt, the participating personnel quickly organized the unloading of supplies and coordination work to prepare for the start of the joint training.
It is reported that in this joint training, both sides will focus on air combat tactics, air superiority operations, combat search and rescue, and conduct troop deployment exercises.
