On June 4, Xinhua News Agency reported from Buenos Aires (Reporter Zhang Duo) that Argentine Defense Minister Carlos Alberto Presti signed an agreement with the U.S. government on the 4th to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in military drone technology and military fuel supply.

The Argentine Ministry of Defense stated in a press release that Minister Presti signed a special agreement for mutual supply of military fuel with U.S. Ambassador to Argentina Peter Lamela on the 4th. According to the agreement, the Argentine military will be able to obtain fuel supplies through the U.S. military's logistics network when conducting exercises, training, and deployments in other parts of the world.

The two sides also signed a cooperation agreement on military drones, allowing the Argentine military to join an international digital trading platform for drones and anti-drone systems managed by the U.S. military, promoting the development of Argentine military drone systems and drone defense technologies.

Analysts believe that this move by the Argentine Ministry of Defense aims to enhance the modernization level of its military, but it may lead to the Argentine military's dependence on U.S. technology and logistics systems, resulting in a loss of independence in certain key areas.
