China to Host International Training Course for UN Peacekeeping Staff Officers

On the afternoon of October 10, Colonel Chen Xi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, released information regarding recent military-related issues.

Chen Xi: In mid to late October, the Ministry of Defense's Peacekeeping Affairs Center and the Foreign Languages College of the National University of Defense Technology will jointly hold an international training course for United Nations peacekeeping staff officers in Kunshan, Jiangsu. Instructors and trainees from 12 countries and international organizations, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, and the United Nations, will participate in the training. This training focuses on building the capacity for United Nations peacekeeping staff positions, including three modules: basic theory, professional skills, and command post exercises, covering 31 topics such as the basic principles of peacekeeping operations, protection of civilians, and command and control, which will help enhance the professionalization, standardization, and coordination capabilities of the armed forces of the relevant countries in carrying out United Nations peacekeeping operations.
