Chinese Navy Hospital Ship "Peace Ark" Arrives in Guinea
Xinhua News Agency, Nairobi, October 3 - Conakry report: On the morning of October 3 local time, the Chinese Navy hospital ship "Peace Ark," executing the "Harmonious Mission-2026," arrived in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, to begin a 7-day friendly visit and provide medical services. This is the first visit of a Chinese Navy hospital ship to Guinea.
At around 10 a.m. that day, the "Peace Ark" hospital ship slowly entered Conakry Port in the rain. Military and political officials from both sides, representatives of Chinese citizens and institutions, the Chinese ambassador to Guinea, military attaché, and embassy staff, as well as local residents, welcomed the ship at the dock. The flags of China and Guinea flew in the wind atop the hospital ship's mast; the Guinean military band performed live music, while the welcoming crowd waved the flags of both countries and displayed a banner reading "Warm Welcome to the Chinese Navy Hospital Ship 'Peace Ark' on its Visit to Guinea," enthusiastically welcoming the arrival of the "Peace Ark." After the hospital ship docked, the military band played welcome songs, and local residents presented a lion dance performance with Chinese characteristics, making the welcoming ceremony grand and warm. Subsequently, military and political officials from both sides, the Chinese ambassador to Guinea, military attaché, and embassy staff boarded the hospital ship for a tour and engaged in discussions with representatives of the task force.
During the visit, the commander of the task force will hold discussions with leaders of the Guinean military. The hospital ship will provide medical services based on its main platform and will send out medical training teams and outreach teams to conduct academic exchanges and medical consultations at friendly hospitals and a certain camp in Guinea. In addition, the task force will organize a deck reception and arrange for representatives of the officers and soldiers to engage in cultural exchanges at the Confucius Institute of Conakry University.
