On July 9, the People's Liberation Army Daily reported from Ho Chi Minh City by Zheng Hongsheng and journalist Xu Lin: The Chinese Navy's 83rd fleet concluded a four-day friendly visit to Vietnam on the morning of the 9th, departing from the Lotus Port in Ho Chi Minh City to continue its offshore comprehensive training and visiting mission.
At around 10 a.m., the Vietnamese side held a farewell ceremony at the Lotus Port. Staff from the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, local Chinese nationals, representatives from Chinese-funded institutions, international students, and representatives from the Vietnamese Navy were present to see them off. After leaving the port, the fleet conducted joint training exercises with Vietnamese naval vessels in nearby waters, including formation maneuvers, flag signaling, and ship etiquette.
During the visit, the 83rd fleet organized activities such as presenting flowers to the statue of Ho Chi Minh, visiting the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City for exchanges, and holding ship open days and friendly football matches. This visit is a concrete manifestation of the deepening cooperation between the navies of China and Vietnam in areas such as ship visits and joint patrols, playing a positive role in enhancing mutual trust and maintaining regional stability.
