According to a statement released by the U.S. Central Command on April 2 local time, the U.S. denied claims made by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that they shot down an "enemy" fighter jet near Geshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Central Command stated that currently, all U.S. military aircraft have been confirmed safe, and there have been no reports of any being shot down.
