Dong Jun holds talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Laos.

Defense Minister Dong Jun held talks with visiting Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Khamliang on the 14th in Beijing's Bayi Building.

Dong Jun stated that China and Laos share a common destiny and have a special friendship characterized by "comrades and brothers." Both sides are committed to implementing the important consensus reached between General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping and General Secretary and President Thongloun, and to advancing exchanges and cooperation with a strategic perspective. In June of this year, China and Laos established a "3+3" strategic dialogue mechanism for diplomacy, defense, and public security, and the two militaries should make good use of this platform to strengthen strategic cooperation. We are willing to further enhance high-level exchanges with the Lao side, promote practical cooperation in various fields to improve quality and efficiency, and build a closer and more substantive military relationship, providing strong support for constructing a comprehensive China-Laos community of shared destiny in the new era and jointly maintaining regional stability.

Khamliang expressed that the Lao side sincerely appreciates and admires the great achievements made under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with Xi Jinping at its core in building the country, the party, and the military. They always highly value the deep friendship with their Chinese brothers, firmly uphold the One China principle, and are willing to follow the strategic consensus of the highest leaders of both parties and countries to strengthen high-level communication between the two militaries and exchanges at all levels, promoting practical cooperation in various fields to achieve more results.

Before the talks, Dong Jun held a welcome ceremony for Khamliang and accompanied him in reviewing the honor guard of the People's Liberation Army of China.
