Explosions Heard Near Baghdad International Airport in Iraq
On the evening of the 6th local time, explosions were heard near the "Victory Camp" base at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq. Sources from the Iraqi security forces stated that the base was attacked by five drones, with the assault carried out by the Iraqi militia group "Islamic Resistance Organization."
According to Iraqi military sources, the "Taji Camp" airbase located north of Baghdad was attacked that evening by two Katyusha rockets. Both the "Victory Camp" and "Taji Camp" bases previously housed U.S. personnel.
Multiple positions under the "Popular Mobilization Forces" in Nineveh Province in northern Iraq were attacked on the evening of the 6th. Local security sources reported that the attacks resulted in over ten explosions, but there have been no reports of casualties so far.
According to a statement from the security media center under the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, a vehicle carrying a rocket launcher platform fired several rockets that evening from an area west of Baghdad towards Baghdad International Airport.
