In recent years, batches of outstanding local talents have joined the military through the "Direct Recruitment of Officers" channel. Recently, at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, a certain comprehensive training base of the army organized a new training graduation assessment for "Direct Recruitment of Officers." What tests do local youths need to undergo to become officers? The reporter visited the assessment site for an in-depth look.

The participants in this assessment are the direct recruitment officers for the second half of this year. They come from universities such as Xinjiang University, Lanzhou University, and Northeast University, with majors covering artificial intelligence, information security, civil engineering, law, nursing, and various other fields. After entering the camp, they must first undergo the "military gate" test, which includes content on formations, physical fitness, regulations, and military fundamentals.

Direct Recruitment Officer Tan Haolin: From campus to military camp, more than a month of training has made me truly feel the difficulties of being a soldier. The graduation assessment is not only a test of training results but also allows me to see the gaps. I will bring the skills learned during the assessment to my position, take root in the border areas, and make contributions in the military camp.

At the assessment site, the participating direct recruitment officers were full of spirit and calmly "faced the challenge," completing each action according to standards. In the military physical fitness assessment, basic subjects such as the 3000-meter run, pull-ups, and sit-ups were conducted in succession.

Direct Recruitment Officer Lin Minglong: The most unforgettable part of the assessment was the tactical fundamentals. Although it was exhausting, at the moment I crossed the finish line, I felt that all the effort was worth it. From the school gate to the camp gate, putting on the military uniform means becoming an ordinary soldier, starting from scratch and practicing the basics. I will continue to work hard and become a qualified officer as soon as possible.

This assessment also included a theoretical assessment segment, focusing on the common foundational military subjects outlined in the syllabus and the responsibilities of officer positions, highlighting the practical mastery of military theory, basic soldier knowledge, regulations, and laws.

Liu Shichao, a certain comprehensive training base of the army: Direct recruitment officers are fresh blood for the troops, with high education and strong specialties, but they must pass the military gate. Through strict assessments, we promote training through testing and promote construction through testing, helping them to fill in the gaps and quickly achieve the transformation from local youth to qualified officers. Next, they will head to their respective positions and contribute to the construction of the troops.
