HASC chair ‘optimistic’ FY27 budget request coming in March

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL), the chair of the House Armed Services Committee, is expecting the Pentagon’s budget request for fiscal 2027 to come sometime in March, he told Breaking Defense in exclusive comments.

“We’re being told we’re going to get the budget in March, and that it will have more clarity” than last year’s budget request, which was missing details, Rogers said in the latest episode of the Congressional Roundup. “We’ll see. I’m optimistic.”
