A Yemeni government military official, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the target of the Houthi attack was two barracks of the government forces located in Al Hudaydah province, leading to intense gunfire between the two sides. Following the attack, the government forces raised the readiness level on multiple fronts to the highest level.
Medical personnel at local hospitals confirmed to Xinhua reporters that the attack resulted in at least 14 Yemeni government soldiers killed, with several others still receiving treatment in the hospital, some of whom are in serious condition.
