Caracal USA said in March 2026 it had been awarded a government contract to supply CAR814 A2 Patrol rifles to various agencies in Belize.

The Idaho-based manufacturer said the agreement covers delivery of 5.56x45mm NATO rifles designed for military and law enforcement use.

According to a statement from Caracal USA, the CAR814 A2 Patrol rifle is a direct impingement, gas-operated weapon engineered to NATO standards. The company said the platform is designed to provide reliability and accuracy for operational use by government security personnel.

Caracal USA did not disclose the number of rifles included in the agreement or the value of the contract. The company said the award involves multiple government agencies in Belize and is part of ongoing cooperation in the region.

“Working with our Caribbean regional representatives, I.I. & E, Caracal USA products have become well known with the government agencies of Caribbean nations,” said Jeffrey Spalding, CEO and president of Caracal USA. “Our dedication to safety, reliability, and durability continues to showcase the quality of Caracal USA weapon systems and has allowed the opportunity to compete in tender solicitations and be awarded supply contracts for new modern weapon systems to Belize.”

The CAR814 A2 Patrol rifle is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, a standard caliber widely used across NATO member states and partner forces.

The rifle uses a direct impingement gas system, which channels gas from the fired round back into the action to cycle the weapon. This design is commonly used in modern service rifles and is known for balancing weight, accuracy and maintenance requirements.

The platform is intended for use in both military and law enforcement roles, where reliability and ease of maintenance are key considerations. Caracal USA said the rifle incorporates manufacturing processes and components designed to meet operational requirements in varied environments.
