IDF Chief of Staff Says Ground Forces are Advancing in Southern Lebanon
The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi, stated on May 29 that the ground forces of the IDF are currently advancing and conducting operations in southern Lebanon.
Halevi said, "The IDF's offensive has dealt an unprecedented heavy blow to Hezbollah, inflicting significant casualties on thousands of Hezbollah members as well as a large number of mid- to high-ranking commanders." He emphasized that the "forward line" of the security zone established by the IDF in southern Lebanon does not restrict its actions; the IDF will take action to eliminate any threats that are detected.
At the same time, Halevi pointed out that the IDF is currently maintaining a high level of alert, ready to respond to any developments in the situation.
