On April 9 local time, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Aviv Kochavi, stated that the Israel Defense Forces are in a state of war and have not ceased fire. The IDF will continue to operate within Lebanon, which is the main area of operations for the IDF. He also mentioned that Israel and Iran are in a state of ceasefire, but the IDF can resume combat there at any time in a strong manner.

Kochavi stated that the pre-war Iran no longer exists, and it has become significantly weaker. The blows suffered by Iran have also affected Hezbollah, as Hezbollah has been isolated within Lebanon, and its connections to its strategic rear (those providing funding and weapons) have also been severed.
