IDF claims to have struck hundreds of Hezbollah targets within 24 hours before the ceasefire with Lebanon.
Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, April 19 (Reporter Feng Guorui, Wang Zhuolun) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on the 19th that within 24 hours before the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon took effect, the IDF struck over 150 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah, as well as approximately 300 Hezbollah military infrastructures, including launchers, command centers, and weapon storage facilities distributed across various regions of Lebanon.
The statement mentioned that the commander of the Hezbollah Bint Jbeil battle zone, Ali Rida Abbas, was killed. The IDF stated that the Bint Jbeil battle zone is "one of Hezbollah's key frontline battle zones," and Abbas is the fourth Hezbollah Bint Jbeil battle zone commander killed by the IDF.
The IDF also stated that during the current round of U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict, the IDF has killed over 1,800 members of Hezbollah in Lebanon.
On the 16th, U.S. President Trump announced that a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel would last for 10 days. The ceasefire took effect at midnight local time on the 17th.
