On April 8, Xinhua News Agency reported from Tehran that Iran's Supreme National Security Council issued a statement on the 8th, announcing the main contents of 10 ceasefire terms submitted to the United States through Pakistan.

These contents include: controlled passage through the Strait of Hormuz coordinated with the Iranian armed forces; an end to the war against all resistance forces in the region; the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from all bases and deployment points in the region; the formulation of a security passage agreement for the Strait of Hormuz to ensure Iran's dominant position; full compensation for the losses incurred by Iran based on estimates; the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, and the repeal of relevant resolutions by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the United Nations Security Council; the unfreezing of all Iranian assets and properties frozen overseas; and ultimately, the approval of all the above terms through a binding United Nations Security Council resolution.

The statement said that the approval of the Security Council resolution would make all these terms binding international law, "bringing a significant diplomatic victory for Iran." Pakistan has informed Iran that the U.S. side accepts the above principles as the basis for negotiations.
