Iran claims full control of the Strait of Hormuz, over a dozen oil tankers hit by shells
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, March 3 - According to a report from the Iranian Fars News Agency on the 3rd, Mohammad Akbarzadeh, the deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, stated that the Strait of Hormuz is now completely under the control of the Iranian Navy, and more than a dozen oil tankers have been hit by shells in the strait.
Akbarzadeh said that the Revolutionary Guard Navy has repeatedly warned that the Strait of Hormuz is in a state of war, and any vessel could be hit by shells or drones. However, more than a dozen oil tankers ignored the warnings and have been hit and burned.
Akbarzadeh emphasized that after Iran announced the ban on navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, oil tankers, merchant ships, and fishing boats can no longer pass through the strait.
