Iran claims to have intercepted a U.S. "Tomahawk" missile; explosions heard in southern Iran
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, July 24 - The Iranian Fars News Agency reported on the evening of the 23rd, citing Iranian military sources, that a U.S. "Tomahawk" cruise missile was intercepted by air defense systems over the Kahnouji area in southeastern Kerman Province on the same day.
On the evening of the same day, Iranian media reported that two explosions were heard near Qeshm Island in southern Hormozgan Province. Local residents stated that explosions were also heard multiple times in the areas south of Larak Island and Hengam Island, around the Strait of Hormuz.
On July 23, Iranian air defense intercepted a U.S. Tomahawk cruise missile over Kahnouj in Kerman Province. Explosions were reported near Geshm Island and in the Strait of Hormuz, with local residents confirming multiple blasts in the vicinity.
