Iran warns that if Israel continues to attack Lebanon, it will be seen as a violation of U.S. commitments.
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, June 18 - According to a report from the Iranian Tasnim News Agency on the 18th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei stated that if Israel continues to attack Lebanon, it will be regarded as a violation of the commitments made by the United States.
In the memorandum of understanding recently released by both the U.S. and Iran, there are provisions regarding the immediate and permanent cessation of military actions on all fronts, including Lebanon.
Baghaei stated that the first article of the memorandum clearly mentions the respect for Lebanon's territorial integrity and national sovereignty. The United States has the responsibility to demand that Israel respect its commitments to Iran as outlined in the memorandum.
Baghaei also mentioned that in the past two to three weeks, the U.S. and Iran have engaged in detailed and in-depth negotiations regarding the unfreezing of Iran's frozen assets. Iran must be able to use the unfrozen assets according to its own wishes, and the United States has committed to removing all related obstacles.
Iran's Foreign Ministry warned Israel that continued attacks on Lebanon would be viewed as a violation of U.S. commitments. This statement follows a recent memorandum between the U.S. and Iran, which includes clauses for halting military actions in Lebanon.
