Iranian Foreign Minister Warns: If British Military Base is Used by the U.S., It Will Be Considered "Participation in Aggression"
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, March 20 - The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated on the 20th that Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif said in a phone call with British Foreign Secretary Cooper that if the UK provides military bases to the US, it will be regarded as "participating in aggression" against Iran.
The statement said: "These actions will undoubtedly be seen as participation in aggression and will be recorded in the history of relations between the two countries. At the same time, we reserve the inherent right to defend our national sovereignty and independence." The statement did not mention the time of the call between the two.
According to reports from several Iranian media on the 20th, Zarif condemned the UK and some European countries for their passive attitude towards the military actions of the US and Israel during the call, and warned that any illegal aggression against Iran and any assistance or support provided to the aggressors "will only exacerbate tensions and complicate the situation."
