Iranian Foreign Ministry: Condemns U.S. Attacks and Repeated Breaches of Agreement

On the 8th local time, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that the U.S. military launched military attacks on several monitoring and regulatory centers along Iran's southern coast in the early hours of the day, violating relevant provisions of the United Nations Charter and seriously breaching the terms regarding the cessation of military actions in the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the U.S. and Iran.

The statement noted that the recent attacks by the U.S. on Iran, as well as the U.S. Treasury's decision to revoke Iran's oil sales license and violations of arrangements related to Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, have rendered important contents of the signed memorandum of understanding ineffective. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the U.S. should bear responsibility for the escalation of tensions and its dangerous consequences.

The statement also emphasized that countries, especially neighboring states on the southern shore of the Persian Gulf, have an international legal obligation to prevent relevant parties from using their territory and facilities to carry out "aggressive actions" against Iran. Any actions that assist such operations will be regarded by Iran as participation in "aggression" against Iran.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the U.S. attacks and repeated breaches of agreement, stating that the Iranian armed forces will uphold national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter when faced with U.S. military attacks, and will strike at the sources of the attacks.
