Iranian Military Official: Iran's Terrain Will Become an "Imprisonment and Quagmire" for Invaders
On the 9th local time, Major General Mohammad Karami, the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Ground Forces, stated during an inspection of the country's western security forces that the Iranian armed forces' ground troops have established a multi-layered security defense system. Factors such as decentralized structure and asymmetric warfare have made war "difficult and hard to control" for the enemy.
He said that Iran's geographical environment is a "prison and quagmire" for any ground invader. The "dual failure in operations and intelligence" encountered by U.S. special forces in the Isfahan Shahreza area is a typical manifestation of this.
He also mentioned that the U.S. Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency had previously conducted joint operations, deploying over 500 personnel and investing more than $1 billion to carry out related actions within Iran, but were ultimately forced to stop and withdrew from the Isfahan region after being struck by Iranian armed forces.
Karami stated that Iran has built a multi-layered defense system with nationwide participation, a model unique to Iran. Over 17 million "volunteer forces" combined with the military and militia system have formed a powerful national defense network.
