Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, April 20 - The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the 20th, saying that Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian spoke on the phone with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, expressing that Iran will comprehensively assess various factors to determine the direction of its next actions.
Amir-Abdollahian expressed appreciation for Pakistan's mediating role in the ceasefire negotiations. He also pointed out that the continuous provocations and violations of the ceasefire agreement by the United States, especially the threats and actions against Iranian merchant ships, as well as contradictory positions and threatening rhetoric, are major obstacles to advancing the diplomatic process.
