Iraq Confirms Attack on U.S. Embassy in Iraq
According to Iraqi sources, on the evening of March 7 local time, the U.S. Embassy in Iraq was attacked. CCTV reporters learned that the U.S. Embassy located in Baghdad's "Green Zone" activated its Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) defense system, but a rocket hit the embassy's helicopter landing pad, although no casualties were reported.
Iraqi Prime Minister Sudani has since issued a statement calling for security forces to apprehend the perpetrators.
Additionally, explosions and the sounds of air defense systems intercepting incoming aerial targets were also reported in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdish Autonomous Region in northern Iraq.
