Israel: The army will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is "completely disarmed"

Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, August 4th (Reporters Feng Guorui and Pang Xinyi) Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated on the 4th that Israel will not withdraw its troops from the current controlled areas of the Gaza Strip until the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is "completely disarmed." The Israeli side has not accepted the relevant plan announced by the U.S. side.

Netanyahu released a video on social media that day, stating that the Israeli side has not accepted the disarmament plan for Hamas announced by U.S. President Trump at the end of last month. He revealed that the White House submitted a draft plan to the Israeli side, but the Israeli side did not accept it, saying, "That is not our draft. We submitted amendments."

Netanyahu also stated that he has instructed the Israel Defense Forces to take all necessary measures to protect national security.

On July 30, Trump posted on social media that the so-called "Peace Committee" initiated by the U.S. has reached an agreement on the "comprehensive disarmament" of Hamas and other armed groups in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas senior official Ghazi Hamad stated in a media interview on July 31 that whether Hamas disarms depends on Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the progress of reconstruction work in Gaza. If the Israeli military does not fulfill its obligations, Hamas will not implement any part of the agreement.
