Israeli Airstrikes in Multiple Locations in Lebanon Result in Casualties
Xinhua News Agency, Beirut, June 7 (Reporter Cao Changhao, Shen Feng) According to a report from the Lebanese National News Agency on the 7th, Israel launched airstrikes that day on the southern suburbs of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and the southern port city of Tyre, resulting in 2 deaths and 11 injuries.
The report stated that the Israeli Air Force fired 3 missiles at the southern suburbs of Beirut, targeting two apartments in two buildings. In addition, Israeli fighter jets conducted two airstrikes on Tyre, bombing areas around a university in the city and a café.
Hezbollah issued a statement on the 7th, stating that its armed personnel used rockets and artillery to strike an Israeli military unit attempting to advance into southern Lebanon, and fired surface-to-air missiles at an Israeli fighter jet in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon. Furthermore, Hezbollah also used suicide drones and artillery to attack multiple Israeli military targets in southern Lebanon.
On the 3rd, Lebanon, Israel, and the United States issued a joint statement saying that Lebanon and Israel agreed to a ceasefire, provided that Hezbollah completely stops attacking Israel and fully withdraws from the area south of the Litani River. Hezbollah leader Qassem stated on the 4th that the ceasefire must include all of Lebanon; as long as Israel's occupation continues, Hezbollah's resistance will persist.
