Israeli Army Claims Attack on Hamas Naval Headquarters in Gaza Strip
Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, June 9 (Reporters Pang Xinyi and Chen Junqing) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on the 9th that the Israeli military struck the headquarters of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) naval police located in the Gaza Strip on the 7th and destroyed three Hamas weapon depots last week.
The IDF stated that the Hamas naval police in the Gaza Strip "operate in coordination" with the Hamas military branch and are commanded by the latter, participating in the planning, command, and execution of armed activities against the IDF and Israel. The IDF claimed that Hamas is using the naval police headquarters to "rebuild and restore military capabilities," which "violates the ceasefire agreement."
The statement said that the IDF killed several armed personnel during the operation, including Ismail Raham, a commander of a Hamas military branch group.
