Israeli Army Claims Head of Iranian Military Oil Department Killed in Airstrike
Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, April 2 (Reporter Wang Zhuolun, Pang Xinyi) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on the 2nd that Jamshid Ashaki, head of the Iranian military's oil department, was killed in an airstrike launched by the Israeli military earlier this week on the Iranian capital, Tehran.
The IDF stated that the oil department managed by Ashaki is an important component of the Iranian armed forces, providing financial support for military activities through oil revenues. Ashaki has long been responsible for the relevant financial operations and has participated in funding military projects such as missile production.
The IDF also stated that Ashaki was involved in financing allies of Iran's "Axis of Resistance," including Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi movement in Yemen.
In another statement released on the 2nd, the IDF said that on the 1st, it conducted an airstrike on Tehran, hitting a command facility used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to manage military budgets.
