Israeli Army Claims to Have Killed a Senior Commander of Hezbollah
Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, April 1 (Reporters Pang Xinyi and Wang Zhuolun) The Israel Defense Forces said on April 1 that the Navy killed Hezbollah Southern Command commander Haji Hashim in an attack on the Lebanese capital Beirut on March 31.
The IDF stated that the Southern Command is the unit of Hezbollah responsible for fighting against the IDF in southern Lebanon. Hashim was a "key figure" in Hezbollah, leading and promoting the group's reconstruction efforts, and in recent years has carried out "thousands of attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers."
