Israeli Equipment Showcased at Marrakech Airshow

Report Content

Reference News Network, October 14 According to the Spanish magazine "Defense" website on October 12, Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. participated for the first time in the Marrakech Air Show in Morocco, showcasing products that include laser air defense, surveillance, aerial reconnaissance, and long-range precision-guided munitions. The air show will be held from October 7 to 10, 2026, and Rafael is using this opportunity to demonstrate its technological capabilities and explore new cooperation opportunities in Morocco.

The core of this air defense display is a high-power laser system. According to Rafael, this system has been declared operational by the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Through this demonstration, the company shows its capability to integrate this technology with missile and drone interception solutions, forming a comprehensive system aimed at addressing various aerial threats.

Another highlight is the "SPYDER" integrated air defense system, which integrates radar, command and control systems, and launchers onto a single vehicle. Rafael also showcased interceptors compatible with its universal launcher. Concentrating these elements on a single platform distinguishes this model from configurations that spread components across multiple vehicles.

In May of this year, media reported the first images of the "SPYDER" system discovered at the Sidi Yahya air defense base in western Morocco. Based on the observed features, the model of the system is expected to be the "SPYDER" integrated air defense system.

To counter small aerial threats, Rafael introduced the "Falcon" anti-drone system. This is a collision-kill principle anti-drone system, differing from traditional air defense missile solutions.

The intelligence and surveillance product line includes the Reselet system, an aerial reconnaissance pod designed to provide real-time imagery intelligence. Rafael incorporates this device into its aerial platform intelligence collection capabilities, complementing the airspace surveillance systems and precision-guided munitions showcased at the air show.

Also featured alongside the Reselet system is the "Sky Observer" early warning system, a passive electro-optical system capable of detecting and tracking multiple aerial targets, designed to support air defense missions and counter drone systems. Its passive nature distinguishes it from sensors that require emitted signals for detection.

In the precision strike domain, Rafael showcased the long-range autonomous missile "Sea Breaker" for striking maritime and land targets. This missile has a range of 300 kilometers and integrates electro-optical technology, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. The "Sea Breaker" is designed for anti-ship, ground attack, and coastal defense missions, and supports operator intervention during mission execution. (Translated by Liu Lifen)
