Karakchi Bridge Attacked Twice, Iranian Media Lists Counterattack Targets
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, April 3 - Following two attacks by the United States and Israel on the Beiyik Highway Bridge in Karaj, Iran, Iranian media on the 2nd listed potential targets for retaliation in the Middle East.
According to Iranian media reports, the Beiyik Highway Bridge in Karaj, known as the highest bridge in the Middle East and a landmark engineering masterpiece of Iran, was damaged in two airstrikes by the U.S. and Israel on the 2nd. The airstrikes resulted in the deaths of 8 civilians and injured another 95. The relevant road sections have been completely closed.
The Iranian Fars News Agency reported that the transportation network of the U.S. and Israel in the region is a "fatal weakness," and Iran may launch a counterattack against it.
The report listed several rail and road transportation routes used for military equipment transport by the U.S. and Israel, including the Yarkon Bridge and the Itzra'el Tunnel, which are used by Israel for transporting heavy military equipment and fuel munitions, as well as a land corridor passing through the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. The report also listed several transportation hubs, including the Port of Haifa, Rehovot Station, and multiple roads connecting Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa.
The report stated that destroying any one of the aforementioned locations "would be enough to weaken the enemy's military response capability to the lowest level."
On the 2nd, U.S. President Trump released a video on social media, claiming that the airstrikes destroyed Iran's "largest bridge," pressuring Iran to "reach an agreement" with the U.S. Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif responded that the destruction of civilian facilities would not force Iran to surrender.
